Williamsburg Police Investigate Possible Shot Fired in Alleged Road Rage Incident

WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Police Department is investigating an alleged road rage incident involving the possible unlawful discharge of a firearm that took place Thursday evening on the 100 block of Thomas Nelson Lane.

According to police, officers were dispatched at approximately 6:10 p.m. on Jan. 18 to the incident. An initial investigation revealed that two vehicles were almost involved in a traffic accident. After avoiding a collision, both vehicles proceeded in different directions when the driver of one of the vehicles heard a gunshot originating from the direction of the suspect vehicle, according to police.

The suspect vehicle was described as a dark-colored mid-size sedan.

No evidence of an unlawful discharge from a firearm was recovered at the scene, and no injuries or property damage was observed or reported, according to police. The incident is under further investigation.
