W&M’s exciting slate will begin with a season-opening matchup against VMI at Zable Stadium on Aug. 31. The contest will renew a long-time rivalry versus the Keydets, as the teams first met in 1905 and have played 88 times. W&M controls the all-time series, 53-33-2 and has won the last 25 meetings. The most recent matchup came in 2011 when the Tribe earned a 24-7 victory in Lexington.
The Tribe will then travel south for a pair of road games when it visits Coastal Carolina (Sept. 7) for a FBS matchup and Wofford (Sept. 14). It will mark the first-ever meeting versus the Chanticleers, while W&M owns a 3-0 record against the Terriers but will make its first trip to Spartanburg. The Tribe defeated Wofford, 23-6, in Williamsburg last season.
W&M will conclude its non-conference slate when it hosts Furman on Sept. 21. One of the nation’s top teams last season, the Paladins secured the No. 7 seed in the NCAA Playoffs and advanced to the quarterfinals. W&M and Furman last played in 2000, as the Paladins own an 8-7 edged in the all-time series.
The Tribe will open conference play with a home contest against Hampton (Sept. 28) as part of Family Weekend, while it will travel to Towson the following weekend (Oct. 5).
After an open date, W&M will host Campbell for Homecoming on Oct. 19 before traveling to consecutive road games at Stony Brook (Oct. 26) and North Carolina A&T (Nov. 2).
The Tribe will conclude its home slate with contests against Elon (Nov. 9, Military Appreciation Game) and Bryant (Nov. 16) before the regular-season finale at longtime rival Richmond in the Capital Cup Game Presented by C&F Bank on Nov. 23. The matchup will mark the 135th meeting between W&M and UR.
Kickoff times will be announced at a later date.
W&M enters the 2024 campaign having posted three consecutive winning seasons. Additionally, the Tribe garnered a top-25 national ranking during each of the last three seasons.
