JAMES CITY COUNTY — Detectives with the James City County Police Department (JCCPD) have made an arrest in connection with the armed robbery of the Papa John’s located at 5559 Olde Towne Road on Oct. 19.
During the investigation, on Oct. 26, JCCPD sent out a bulletin featuring surveillance camera images of the suspect.
Dominique Cathcart, a 40-year-old Newport News resident, was taken into custody by the Hampton Police on a separate robbery-related offense that had occurred in Hampton. Hampton Police then shared vital information regarding the Oct. 26 bulletin with JCCPD that potentially linked Cathcart to the Oct. 19 robbery.
That led JCCPD to conduct an interview with Cathcart at the Hampton Police Division Headquarters on Oct. 31, after which, the following warrants against Cathcart were issued:
- Robbery
- Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony
- Abduction and Kidnapping
Cathcart is being held without bond at the Hampton Jail Annex.
James City County Police thanked the Hampton Police Division for its assistance.
