WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg Police Department, with assistance from the James City County Police Department, made an arrest in connection with a domestic strangulation incident that occurred Saturday, Oct. 14 on the 500 block of York Street.
Police announced the arrest of 42-year-old Jeffrey Haywood of York County on Friday. Haywood was wanted out of Williamsburg for domestic assault, strangulation, petit larceny, property damage, prevention of 911, and willful destruction of physical evidence.
Officers had been called at approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, to the 500 block of York Street for a domestic incident. Police said a female victim was located with injuries and transported to a local hospital. Haywood fled the scene on a bicycle prior to law enforcement’s arrival. Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Bureau obtained arrest warrants against Haywood, police said.

Those with information may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if it leads to an arrest.
