Yorktown’s 12th Annual Art Stroll Slated for Sunday

(York County Economic & Tourism Development)

YORKTOWN — Riverwalk Landing will turn into an indoor/outdoor art gallery from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24, for Yorktown’s 12th annual Art Stroll.

Approximately 50 regional artists will put their artistic talent on display along Water Street, as well as inside and behind the Yorktown Freight Shed. Visitors will find a wide range of art for sale including oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, glass, photography, jewelry, handmade soap, woodwork, and mixed media.

The public invited to visit the artists and learn more about their inspiration, and also participate in an annual community painting project — a blank canvas set out for attendees to complete.

There will be a special musical performance on the Riverwalk Landing stage from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. by Audio Portrait, an acoustic harmony trio that covers songs from the ‘60s through today.

The talent will extend onto Historic Main Street, where On the Hill Gallery will feature a special artist exhibit from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. by Sarah Thompson, who turns reclaimed materials into fine art sculptures.

The Gallery at York Hall will offer paintings, pottery, jewelry, stained glass, quilts, and other pieces from local artists available for purchase.
