WILLIAMSBURG — The Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce has announced the theme and date of this year’s Christmas parade — Jingle Bell Jubilee — to be held on Dec. 3 at 5 p.m.

“The Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the annual Christmas Parade; it is a time-honored tradition that not only spreads holiday cheer but also showcases the creativity and spirit of the Williamsburg community,” said Terry Banez, CEO of the chamber.

Since 1965 the parade has traditionally ushered in the holiday season with festive floats, live performances, and a visit from Santa himself. The parade set a record for attendance with 18,000 spectators last year.

Parade participants are encouraged to create floats inspired by this year’s theme that evoke the spirit of the holidays, such as jingling bells, twinkling lights, and joyful music.

The chamber has also introduced a new registration protocol.

Local marching bands may apply with early access by contacting Lauren Moore, Vice President of Communications & Programming. Applications for all other floats will open on Sept. 5 on the official Christmas parade page. This year’s Parade Application will consist of an online application and a downloadable registration form.

Float check-in will be located by Kaplan Arena, with the parade beginning at the intersection of Brooks Street and Richmond Road. More route details will be announced in the weeks leading up to the parade.
