Ferris’ Day Off: Charly’s Airport Restaurant

HISTORIC TRIANGLE — Part beagle, part foxhound and all attitude, Ferris Bueller (no, not THAT Bueller but, definitely named after the ’80s icon) is a one-year-old pup who loves to head out on adventures and explore new places and meet people.

Having an early lunch and watching planes on the patio at Charly’s Airport Restaurant seemed like a perfect Ferris date.

Located next to the Williamsburg-Jamestown Airport, this local family and pet-friendly hangout sits right off the runway.

There is a large outdoor space filled with bright blue tables, huge umbrellas for shade on sunny days and a giant kid’s play area!

Besides the planes, Charly’s is best known for its fresh-baked bread and homemade pies. Ferris can confirm the bacon is also crispy and delicious!

Charly’s is open for lunch Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Weather permitting, Friday Night Flights provides patrons with the perfect dinner spot to listen to live music and gather from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Follow Charly’s Airport Restaurant on their Facebook page for specials and updates.

Happen to spot Ferris out on an adventure? Come say hello! If you have a dog-friendly suggestion you would like Ferris to consider covering or visiting, please email his mom. Hounds are not very good at responding.
