YORKTOWN — The next special Yorktown Market Days event, Fun in the Sun, is slated for Saturday, July 15 for from 8 a.m. to noon at Riverwalk Landing.
“This special Yorktown Market Days event offers a variety of activities that are ‘shore’ to make your entire family smile,” according to York County Public Affairs.
Kids will be able to play inflatable lawn games, paint seashells, blow bubbles, and more, and a balloon artist will be on hand from 9 a.m. to noon to create and twist characters for the little ones, the county said.. Guests will also be able to strum or shake instruments with One Love Caribbean Steel Drum Band, performing on the Riverwalk Landing Stage from 9 a.m. to noon.
Attendees are encouraged to pick up fresh meats, produce, spices, BBQ sauce, and more to help prepare summer-inspired dishes at home. Sea-themed art and jewelry will be available for purchase to adorn upcoming seasonal affairs. Food will be available from on-site food trucks, including Boyd’s Tasty Dogs, Coastal Thirst, Kathi’s Clam Chowder, and Chef Joseph’s.
Free parking is available at the Riverwalk Landing Parking Terrace, York Hall, York-Poquoson Courthouse, County Administration Building, and other designated public parking lots. The free, air-conditioned, wheelchair-accessible Yorktown Trolley runs from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.
