Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center to Hold Fundraiser

Marina at Queens Lake

WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center (WCAC) will hold its first fundraiser since the pandemic on July 15.

“Summer Shindig” will offer a fun-filled event from 6-9 p.m. at the Queens Lake Club House in Williamsburg. The event is open to the public — adults only — and reservations are required.

“We are really looking forward to this event and thank our dedicated volunteers who spent months planning a great evening,” said Janis Wood, WCAC president.  “It includes open bar (wine/beer/soft drinks), good food, summer games, and a silent auction of art-related and other items for personal enjoyment or gifts.

“Our special highlight will be live music by Hampton Roads phenomenon Patrick Ryan, a full-time singer-songwriter, band leader, and performer.  He’s also an award-winning open mic host and avid supporter and mentor of the arts and music community.  We are really fortunate that he will spend the evening performing for us,” Wood added.

Reservations can be made online at visitwcac.org by clicking on the event link at the top of the page, or by contact Michael Jones, WCAC Manager, at 757-229-4949 or at visitWCAC@gmail.com.

Prior to the event, WCAC will provide attendees with a map to Queens Lake Club House and bidder number(s) for silent auction. The deadline for reservations is July 7. The funds raised will help keep the nonprofit WCAC operating and able to continue its programs and services to the community.

WCAC, located at 110 Westover Ave., is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday. The center includes three galleries of exhibits, an Artisan Corner, and an art education center for classes and programs.
