NEWPORT NEWS — The Langley for Families Foundation raised over $535,000 at its Ninth Annual Charity Golf Classic in Williamsburg on May 16.
Proceeds from the event will be given to Hampton Roads healthcare, housing and human services, and access to education nonprofits.
“We are so grateful to our sponsors, partners and volunteers for their commitment to this important event for the Langley for Families Foundation,” said Jerome Fowlkes, Langley Federal Credit Union’s CHRO and newest board member of the Langley For Families Foundation. “Their generosity powerfully demonstrates their dedication to ensuring our nonprofit partners have the resources needed to serve families and children in need in the communities we serve.”
More than 100 golfers participated in the event at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club’s Gold Course. Challenges and prizes included longest drive, closest to the pin and hole-in-one grand prizes, and Golden Horseshoe Golf Pro Erick Mellott joined players on the course for a Beat the Pro contest and the chance to win a Titleist TSR driver.
