JAMES CITY COUNTY — Director of Colonial Community Corrections Harold “Hal” Diggs is retiring after 21 years of service, James City County announced Thursday.
Diggs’s career with the James City County Police Department began in 2002. In 2012, he became the Director of Colonial Community Corrections (CCC), managing pretrial, probation, and reentry services for six localities.
The county said that during his tenure, CCC experienced substantial growth in staff and funding. It also noted his leadership extended beyond James City County, with service on several Virginia Community Criminal Justice Association committees, including legislative and conference committees.
“Hal’s contribution to public safety will always be appreciated, and his achievements during his career are noteworthy. We thank and celebrate Hal Diggs’ exceptional career with James City County,” the county said in a statement.
