Tractor-Trailor Overturns on I-64 at Humelsine Parkway Exit

WILLIAMSBURG — Virginia State Police investigated a single-vehicle overturned tractor-trailer on Interstate 64 westbound near the Humelsine Parkway Exit Wednesday morning.

According to VSP, the driver of the tractor-trailer, Taw Tha Ner, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania was traveling on Route 199 in the 2019 Freightliner. When he took the on-ramp from Route 199 east to I-64 westbound, the load shifted, causing the tractor-trailer to overturn.

Speed is considered to be a factor in this crash, VSP said, and Ner has been charged with reckless driving.

All three lanes of Interstate 64 westbound were blocked, including the off-ramp to route 199 — Exit 242 — with traffic moving on the left shoulder of the interstate until the vehicle was removed. There is no traffic backup on I-64 at this time, VSP said.
