JAMES CITY COUNTY — Relax and renew is the theme for the Jamestown 4-H Women’s Wellness Weekend, June 2-4.

Open to women aged ’18 and better,’ the ‘adult sleepaway camp’ promises something for everyone. Attendees can sit by a pool and read a book to recharge or participate in as many athletic activities as they can squeeze in over the weekend.

“The weekend is all-inclusive but, we will still have the camp feel. Our chef will be creating delicious nutritional meals and you can enjoy your time here however you want. Guests are given a list of activities and workshops they can pick and choose from,” said Community Outreach Director/Development Director Stephanie Smith.

In addition to the camp-related exercises such as archery, kayaking, and basket weaving, this year, Stretch Lab, Spoke and Art and Discovery Boat Tours join the list of local business participants.

Smith adds, “We have several small, local businesses that participate and it helps build connections with participants. Our hope is that they take that connection with them when the weekend is over and they reach out to the businesses and it builds a relationship within the community.”

The weekend kicks off on Friday evening with dinner and an ice-breaker. Saturday includes six workshop sessions including meditation, yoga, spiritual healing and self-help, in addition to a variety of events and activities guests can choose from. Sunday morning concludes with brunch.

“The women that attend seem to make really meaningful connections. I have seen women come alone and leave with new lifetime best friends,” Smith continues, “This is why we do it.”

Registration and information are available through Jamestown 4-H.
