WILLIAMSBURG – On Mar. 19, 2023, at approximately 1:54 a.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 700 block of Scotland Street.
Upon arrival, officers found three people who had been shot, a 25-year-old male, and two 24-year-old males.
Fire units responded and transported the victims to Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News. All three victims are expected to survive.
The Criminal Investigations Bureau is investigating the incident.

UPDATE:
Around 10:00 a.m., investigators from the Criminal Investigations Bureau arrested Alvin Lapenze Jackson Jr., age 21 of York, in the shooting from earlier in the morning.
Jackson was located and arrested in the 200 block of Barlow Road in York County. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
Jackson was charged with nine
felonies that include:
• 18.2-51.2 (Aggravated malicious wounding) x2
• 18.2-51 (Malicious wounding) x1
• 18.2-53.1 (Firearm: Use in commission of a felony, 1st offense) x3
• 18.2-280 (Firearm: Shoot in public place, cause injury) x3
The Williamsburg Police Department would like to thank the following agencies for their

James City County Police Department, William & Mary Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The investigation of the shooting is ongoing. There is not an active threat to the community.
