WILLIAMSBURG — The William & Mary women’s gymnastics team completed a successful weekend at Kaplan Arena, as it earned its second consecutive dual meet victory with a 190.025-189.550 win against Fisk in front of nearly 2,000 fans on Sunday afternoon.
The historic matchup marked the first time two Black female head coaches – Kelsey Hinton (William & Mary) and Corrinne Tarver (Fisk) – have competed against each other in an NCAA gymnastics meet.
Keaghan Schafer highlighted the Tribe’s individual performances by winning floor (9.775), while Sarah Kuper placed second on vault with a career-high 9.725 and finished third on bars by equaling her career best (9.700).
Additionally, Abby Carpenter and Michelle Ngo earned top three finishes on beam and floor, respectively.
As a team, W&M posted the top scores on bars and floor.
