WEST POINT — Baylands Family Credit Union announced it recently earned the Desjardins Financial Education Award for the state of Virginia, recognizing its efforts in promoting financial literacy and providing financial education to members of the community.

According to Baylands, the award acknowledges its comprehensive approach to financial education, including workshops, online resources, and one-on-one consultations designed to meet the diverse needs of its members.
In addition to its educational initiatives, Baylands FCU notes it has fostered partnerships with local organizations to extend its financial literacy programs, and most recently introduced its MoneyEDU Online Financial Wellness Center.

Founded in 1946, Baylands Family Credit Union, based in West Point, currently operates four branch locations and is part of the Co-Op Financial Services Network of credit unions. Membership is open to individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in Chesterfield, James City, New Kent, King William, King & Queen, Middlesex, Essex, Gloucester, and Mathews counties. Additionally, immediate family members of existing members also qualify for membership.
