The celebration of the company’s twelfth location, which can be found at 1767 George Washington Memorial Hwy. (Route 17), kicked off with comments from Gloucester Point community leaders and the company’s President and CEO Joe Taylor.
“Our team is excited about adding this new location to Taylor’s family,” said Joe Taylor in a press release. “We look forward to being an engaged partner in the Floucer Point community.”
The Lifetime Achievement Award was a part of the Retail Alliance’s Retailer of the Year 2021 Awards, where the organization honored 71 recipients in over 35 categories.
According to the Retail Alliance website, “The winners were selected through peer voting based on a business’ customer service, reputation, aesthetics, and community involvement.”
The new location will be managed by Cheryl Chase, a Middle Peninsula resident who has been working with Taylor’s Do it Center for over five years. Chase previously served as an assistant manager at the company’s location in Poquoson.
Taylor’s Do it Center is a chain of family-owned and locally-operated independent hardware stores. The business offers lumber, hardware, and building materials in addition to other products and services such as key cutting, as well as paint tint mixing and matching.
