Williamsburg Landing welcomes new members to board of directors

Williamsburg Landing recently announced the appointment of five new members to its board of directors. Larry Foster, Ted Juraschek, Karen Riordan and Linda Taylor Stallings will each serve three-year terms and Anton Campanella, the residents’ council president elected by Williamsburg Landing residents, will serve a two-year term.

Campanella attended Upsala College for two years, left to serve as an officer in the army, and returned to earn a degree from Upsala. He joined AT&T, beginning a career in marketing and communications, and went on to become president of New Jersey Bell in 1983 and president of Bell Atlantic in 1989. He retired in 1992 and he and his wife became Williamsburg Landing residents in 2010.

Foster retired in 2014 after a 38-year career in local government management for different communities in Virginia. During the last 26 years he served James City County as General Manager of the James City Service Authority. He has served on non-profit boards including the United Way of Greater Williamsburg and the Salvation Army Advisory Board, and currently volunteers at Hospice House & Support Care Williamsburg, James City County Master Gardeners, First Tee, Child Development Resources and The Harbor.

Juraschek’s career spanned 32 years with Becton Dickinson and Company (BD), a Fortune 500 medical products company. He worked closely with BD’s community relations and corporate giving functions as well as sales, marketing and public affairs, and finished out his career with the company managing the government relations function. As a registered lobbyist, Juraschek worked with Congress on issues of interest to BD and the entire medical products industry. He also served two years in the U.S. Army ,including a tour of duty in Vietnam, where he earned the Bronze Star medal. Juraschek moved to Williamsburg in 2005.

Riordan serves as the President and CEO of the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance, where she splits her time working with the business community and driving local tourism. She brings over 25 years of marketing and business management experience to GWCTA, working at top marketing firms in Washington, D.C. and Boston, Mass. She has led marketing programs for leading brands in tourism, including The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Royal Caribbean International, Amtrak, Choice Hotels International and Celebrity Cruises. She is the 2013 recipient of the American Advertising Federation’s Silver medal award for service and is the 2012 honoree of the Washington Business Journal’s “Women Who Mean Business.”

Stallings has over 40 years of experience in health care and nonprofit organizations. She graduated from the University of Vermont and worked as a staff and head nurse at University of Nebraska-Omaha Hospital and Director of Nursing for Nursing Agency in the Washington, D.C. area. Stallings served as Director of Allocations and Agency Relations for the United Way in Dayton, Ohio, as well as the executive director, board member and volunteer at Hospice House & Support Care of Williamsburg. She was a member of the capital campaign committee that raised funds to build the Hospice House in Williamsburg and also started the Legacy Society for HHSCW, where she was a charter member, and served as Treasurer and Chair of the VA Association for Hospices.
