James City County Parks and Recreation is offering families the chance to learn about and enjoy the local environment at this Saturday’s James RiverFest.
This annual event, which takes place at the James City County Marina at 2054 Jamestown Road, will include activities, craft vendors, educational booths, live music and free kayaking, bike and boat tours.
James City County and the James River Association have partnered up to host this event with the goal of educating the public about the importance and health of the river.
Kids will have the chance to take part in hands-on educational experiences like a scavenger hunt, on-the-water activities and encounters with live animals from the river, all of which are designed to educate participants about this delicate ecosystem.
This event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and admission is free and open to the public.
