The Williamsburg Regional Local Human Rights Committee is looking to fill a recent vacancy.
The committee is a branch of Virginia Office of Human Rights, an organization that monitors compliance with human rights regulations by “promoting the basic precepts of human dignity, advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities in our service delivery systems, and managing the Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services’ Human Rights dispute resolution program,” according to a recent news release
The local committee is looking for a resident of the City of Williamsburg, James City County or York County with an interest, knowledge or training in the mental health, mental retardation or substance abuse fields.
Applicants should be prepared to meet quarterly at Eastern State Hospital with occasional state sponsored trainings.
