Child Development Resources recently announced two new appointments to the organization’s board of directors.
Dr. Virginia McLaughlin is a full-time faculty member at the College of William & Mary and served as the Dean of the School of Education from 1995 to 2013.
Previously, she served as associate dean at the School of Education for seven years and chief of staff for President Timothy Sullivan for two years.
In addition to her work at William & Mary, of which she is a graduate, she has also served on multiple community and professional boards, including the Virginia Board of Education, Virginia Early Childhood Foundation, Williamsburg Community Health Foundation, Dream Catchers and LEAD Historic Triangle.
Peter Gore is a financial analyst and certified financial planner, as well as the founder of Gore Capital Management, LLC. He serves as an adjunct professor for William & Mary’s Mason School of Business, where he co-teaches and directs the Student Managed Investment Fund.
He is also an instructor for the Christopher Wren Association for Lifelong Learning and serves on the board of directors of several nonprofit groups, including the Heritage Humane Society and Art Services International.
“As CDR celebrates its 50th anniversary, we are confident that the board will continue to provide strong support and expertise,” said Paul Scott, CDR’s executive director. “It’s this type of leadership that will allow CDR to prepare for the next 50 years of service to our community.”
