Del. Monty Mason is seeking volunteers to lend a helping hand at his annual College Creek Cleanup Day slated for April 16.
Mason and his team of volunteers will celebrate Earth Day a little early as they pick up trash and litter along College Creek for the third year in a row.
Volunteers will be working on the section of the creek below the High Street development this year. They are advised to wear weather appropriate clothes and to come prepared to get muddy and wet.
“College Creek is one of the most beautiful features flowing in and around Williamsburg,” Mason said in a statement. “We need to make sure it stays that way for our current and future residents.”
The cleanup will take place from 10 a.m. to noon April 16. Snacks and water will be provided.
Volunteers should park and meet near the retention ponds behind the High Street development, located at the intersection of Treyburn Drive and King’s Manor Drive.
The City of Williamsburg requests parked cars do not block the Treyburn Drive bike lane.
