Busch Gardens Williamsburg recently released the park’s special events schedule for the coming year, and the 2016 season is shaping up to be full of the holiday celebrations, concerts and special programs that park enthusiasts have come to know and love.
The newest addition to the events lineup is the KIDsiderate Concert Series, which will see popular children’s groups taking to the stage at Italy’s Il Teatro di San Marco theater this spring.
Choo Choo Soul, Laurie Berkner, Imagination Movers and Kidz Bop Live are each slated to perform, and all shows are scheduled for Saturdays between April 23 and May 14.
This new event joins a popular returning concert series, Glory At The Gardens – a two-day Christian concert series extravaganza featuring six bands – Skillet, Family Force 5, Disciple, Newsboys, Hawk Nelson and Ryan Stephenson – performing in Festhaus Park on May 7 and 8.
When the park first opens for the season March 19, visitors can enjoy the return of Elmo Rocks! to the Globe Theatre, where it will run select days until May 1, or catch the Happy Dutchmen band in Das Festhaus through March 24.
Guests planning an early season or Spring Break trip to the park may want to plan around Jack Hanna’s return to Busch Gardens on April 2 and 3. With his infectious energy, “Jungle Jack Hanna makes animal and conservation education entertaining for the whole family,” according to a recent news release.
Busch Gardens’ cornerstone events – the Food and Wine Festival in late spring, Independence Day fireworks, Howl-o-Scream and Christmas Town – will all also be returning this year, in addition to the Oktoberfest-themed Bier Fest that debuted in September of last year.
