The Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center is now accepting registrations for its Spring 2016 classes, which include everything from book-making to oil painting.
The spring class schedule, which runs from Jan. 11 to May 25, includes a variety of subject matter and skill-level appropriate classes, all led by instructors who are both skilled in and passionate about teaching fine arts.
Making a reappearance on this upcoming season’s slate of classes is the “Never Before Had An Art Class – Art Class” led by Joanne Limric. This popular past offering will focuses on the fundamentals of painting including color and composition, and is perfect for the would-be artist with no prior artistic training.
In addition to a full schedule of beginner and intermediate watercolor, oil painting and writing courses, the spring schedule also includes some more unusual offerings such as “Paper Mache with Hank Mook” and “Paint Like the Master Georgia O’Keeffe.”
Even more nebulous art forms will be explored in Greg Lilly’s “Recovering Your Creative Self,” a course dedicated to rediscovering the creative potential inherent in every person.
While some classes meet weekly throughout the semester, others take place over shorter blocks of time. A few one and two day workshops round out the schedule, making room in the course line-up for artists with varied time commitments and interest levels.
All classes will be held at the Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center Education Center in the City of Williamsburg. The complete course schedule along with prices and supply lists can be found here. To register, call the Center at 757-229-4949.
