Fourth Annual Art Stroll to Take Over Yorktown Sunday

The fourth annual Yorktown Art Stroll will take place this Sunday along the Riverwalk and in the Yorktown Freight Shed.

This event, which is presented by the Yorktown Arts Foundation and York County and falls under the umbrella of Williamsburg Fall Arts, combines local businesses and local artists to showcase them both simultaneously.

Businesses throughout town will open their doors to artists from throughout the community, who will have to opportunity to set up a display of their work in the many storefronts.

In addition to having the opportunity to peruse and purchase both local art and wares from various Yorktown businesses, art enthusiasts will also be able to talk with the artists themselves and learn about their work and processes.

This year’s lineup includes more than 30 artists. Works from variety of different mediums will be on display and available for purchase, including oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, glass sculptures, photography, drawings, handcrafted jewelry, pottery, furniture, wood work and artisanal soaps and lotions.

A number of area restaurants will remain open even after the Art Stroll wraps up at 6 p.m. to entice patrons to enjoy a meal and relax after a day of strolling and shopping.

Free parking will be available for the duration of the event at the Riverwalk Landing parking terrace, York Hall, the York-Poquoson Courthouse and the County Administration Building. Additionally, a free trolley will run from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. throughout historic Yorktown and along Riverwalk Landing.

This event will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is rain or shine. For a complete list of participating artists and businesses, click here.
