Authorities have renewed a call for the public’s help in finding a registered violent sex offender whose last known address was in James City County.

Police have placed Bruce Wayne Harris Jr., 34, on its most wanted list, according to an alert on the James City County Facebook page.

According to Williamsburg-James City County Circuit Court records, Harris was found guilty of carnal knowledge of a child between 13 and 15 years old in 2003, which is a class 4 felony.

Harris was sentenced to ten years in prison, with seven years suspended, for the crime. He also was charged with failing to register as a violent sex offender on multiple occasions, most recently in 2011, according to Williamsburg-James City County Circuit Court records.

The police alert said Harris’ last known address was Indian Summer Lane in James City County. Harris is six feet tall, weighs 150 pounds and is 34 years old, the alert said.

According to the Virginia State Sex Offender Registry, Harris was most recently employed at H.G. Bass Clothing Company, in the Williamsburg Premium Outlets.
