Williamsburg - On Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, our beloved Robert E. “Bubba” Harris, Jr., was called home for eternal rest. He was born on June 1, 1953, the son of the late Sifer and Robert E. Harris, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. He was formerly employed, for many years, by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his sisters and one brother. He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Tampra Williams; step-daughters, Mija Williams and Ashly Williams; son, Shawn Lucas; step-son, Lorenzo Williams; sisters, Loretia Watkins, Anita Chapman, Barbara Braxton, Ardeana Harris, Brenda Harris and Delephine Bartlett; brother, Terry Harris; eight grandchildren; aunts and uncles; and other loving relatives and a host of caring friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, in Mt. Ararat Baptist Church with the Rev. Ventson Robinson officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 112 Tarleton Bivouac by 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mr. Harris may be viewed in the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
