Police search for female SUV driver in hit-and-run with cyclist at W&M

Williamsburg Police are looking for the female driver of a silver-colored SUV believed to have fled the scene Monday after hitting a cyclist riding on the College of William & Mary campus.

When police arrived on the scene at 2:30 p.m., the cyclist, who is 40-years-old, told police he was riding on the sidewalk, heading eastbound on Richmond Road. He then crossed over Virginia Avenue, when he was struck by the SUV, which was either gray or silver in color.

The bicyclist was treated and released at the scene by medics for minor injuries, police said.

The cyclist was unable to give any further description of the vehicle or driver.
