Update Saturday, 8:30 a.m.: State police have cancelled an Amber Alert issued Friday night for two missing Portsmouth children. Both children were safely located overnight, Virginia State Police Spokeswoman Corinne Geller said Saturday.

An Amber Alert has been issued for two Portsmouth children who were abducted by their mother Friday morning.

Asia Jarvis, 24, may be driving in a black Jeep, possibly a Patriot. The license plate number is unknown. Asia Jarvis threatened to shoot the children’s father if he did not provide her with money, according to the alert.

Asia Jarvis is a black female, around 5 feet 8 inches tall and 215 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue night robe, green tights and an oversized shirt.

The children were last seen at a home in the 1100 block of Carrington Crescent by their father Friday morning, police said. The father, who has custody of the children, got a threatening message from Asia Jarvis.

Dominique Jarvis is 5 years old with braided brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue and red shirt with pajama pants.

Messiah Jarvis is one-and-a-half years old with braided brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing yellow and black pants with a white T-shirt.
