York police seek two smoking bandits in alleged $700 cigarette heist

Police are looking for two bandits who allegedly burglarized a tobacco shop on Merrimac Trail last month, stealing $700 in cigarettes and another $200 in cash, according to the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.

On March 29, shortly before 2 a.m., two people entered through the front door of Smokers Express at 551 Merrimac Trail, breaking the glass to gain entry, said Lt. Dennis Ivey.

The incident is still under investigation.
