Michael Martin ‘Mike’ Boley, 60, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017. Mike Boley was an assistant store manager at Dicks Sporting Goods and previously worked for many years in the hotel, restaurant and food service industries.
Mike was born in Lexington, Va., to Charles Chrysostom Boley Sr. and Mary Elizabeth ‘Lisa’ Kiefer Boley. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1974 and from Washington and Lee University in 1978 with a B.S. in chemistry.
Mike was hard working and kind hearted. He was devoted to his family and had a great sense of humor. Mike was a longtime member of St. Olaf Catholic Church. For relaxation, he enjoyed reading and working in his garden.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law, Robert P. ‘Bob’ Wright. Mike is survived by his spouse, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Wright Boley; sons, James Michael (Anna) Boley, of Harrisonburg, Va., and Charles Robert ‘Chase’ Boley of Williamsburg, Va.; stepdaughter, Bobbie Jo Ann (Wes) Saulman of New Kent County, Va.; three siblings, Charles Chrysostom (Donna) Boley Jr. of Avondale, Pa., Lisa Boley (Matt) Heuser of Lexington, Ky., and Kathleen Ann ‘Kathy’ Boley of Henrico, Va.; and one step-granddaughter, Brittany Saulman.
The family will receive visitors beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Olive Branch Christian Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions, “In Memory of Michael Boley,” be made to one of the following, St. Olaf Catholic Church Building Fund, 104 Norge Lane, Williamsburg, VA 23188; Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center; or Riverside Regional Medical Center Hospice, 12420 Warwick Blvd, St 6E, Newport News, VA 23606.
