Harald Edwin Aadahl, 61, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 9, 2017. He was a devoted husband, a wonderful ‘Daddy’ and beloved youth pastor.
Harald was born in Williamsburg, Va., and was a graduate of James Blair High School. He earned degrees from Thomas Nelson Community College, Moody Bible Institute and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Harald served his first church as a youth and education pastor in Garner, N.C. Throughout the remainder of his life, he worked as an associate pastor at Temple Baptist, Orcutt Baptist and Hilton Baptist churches in Newport News, Va.
Left to cherish his memory are his spouse of 37 years, Mary Cottrell Aadahl; parents, Edwin and Elizabeth Aadahl of Williamsburg; son, Aaron Tyler (Sarah) of Remington, Va.; daughters, Sara Aadahl Maslyn (Jordan) of Richmond and Hannah Aadahl of Toano; brothers, Richard Aadahl (Patty) and Christopher P. Aadahl (Mary Katherine), and sister, Thelma Annette Woolard, all of Williamsburg; and granddaughter, Harper Maslyn.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 13, at Nelsen Funeral Home 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, at James River Baptist Church, 4931 Centerville Road, Williamsburg. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
