Roy Keith Willey, 84, devoted family man, served two tours in Vietnam

Roy Keith Willey, 84, of Williamsburg, Va., and formerly of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away Monday, March 6, 2017. Roy was born and raised in Hinton, West “by God” Virginia, on the banks of the Green Briar River.

Roy retired from the U.S. Navy after 28 years of service. During his career, he was a hospital corpsman and served two tours in Vietnam. He was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his family, but also loved spending time on the golf course.

Roy was preceded in death by his grandson, Alasdair Brady Willey; and his sister, Dorothy Shedrich.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Hazel Willey; two daughters, Vivian Waterman (Greg) and Kathy Zuna (Jamie); one son, Nick Willey (Morag); one stepdaughter, Paula Willey; one brother, Donald Willey(Daneta); three sisters, Sue Hellems(Tom), Linda Ballard and Betty Spade; two grandchildren, Bud Wheeler IV and Flora Soule (Will); one great-granddaughter, Kaley Wheeler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at noon Friday, March 17, at Quantico National Cemetery.
