A superwoman, comedian, personal shopper, fashion consultant and gossip colonist, Melissa Evone Johnson was all of those and so much more. On Thursday, March 2, 2017, Melissa Evone Johnson, a former resident of Williamsburg, ended her journey on earth and embarked on a new journey with angels, distant friends and relatives.
While here on earth, she lived her life how she wanted — with no limits, no boundaries, and no regrets. She loved telling stories (40-percent fact and 60-percent fiction), and spending time with her family — but not necessarily in that order. She also loved taking long trips to nowhere, getting lost, just to find her way back. She had a gravitational pull around her. It was unbelievably easy for people to get caught up and lost in her world. When she wasn’t affecting and touching people lives, she was busy being a great mother, daughter and sister.
She leaves behind her two daughters, Jade and Monay; mother, Doris Anderson; siblings, Mark, Warren, Marion and Naye; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and very close friends.
A celebration of her life will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, March 12, at Whiting’s Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Johnson may be viewed beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
