Bobby Dean Gibson, 72, of Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born July 16, 1944, in Pax, W.Va., to the late Gus and Maciel Gibson.
Bobby was co-owner of Atlantic Septic Systems since 2001. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1964, having served on the AF13 789 696 as an airman. Bobby was well known for his beautiful smile and his exceptional kindness to all. He loved to fish, gamble, dance, and most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Bobby was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Cheryl; and sisters, Jean Ripley and Ruth Stewart. He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Robin White (K.C.), Tonya Gibson (Mark), Crystal Jones (Danny), Chance Sizemore (Tavna), Bobby Gibson Jr. and Michael Gibson (Ashley); stepchildren, Keisha Marie (Chris) and Tammy McTaggart (Tony); sisters, Betty Kilford and Judie Grablewski (Ron); brother, Gus Gibson (Debi); two special daughters-in-law, Stephanie Zepada and Tracy Gibson; 31 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; special niece, Teresa Still; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains, Road, Williamsburg. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at Wellsprings United Methodist Church, 4871 Longhill Road, Williamsburg. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park, 130 King William Drive, Williamsburg.
