Williamsburg, VA: Bacon Street Youth and Family Services will be honoring Bob Coleman at their 2nd annual Gala on February 26th. After last year’s smash success (raising over $43,000!) we are looking forward to a great event honoring some amazing young people in our community for the contributions they are making to their schools and community.
A special highlight of the evening will be celebrating the legacy of Bob Coleman, who has been a clinician here at Bacon Street since the late 1970s and has participated in the recovery of thousands of young people over his tenure. “Bob is moving into retirement, and this is an evening for us as a community to give him a very special thank you for all that he has done and continues to do for the youth and families who live, work, and play in the Greater Williamsburg and Hampton Roads area,” said Kim Dellinger, Executive Director.
We are delighted to have a very generous anonymous donor as our presenting sponsor for the evening, in addition to support from Compass Wealth Strategies, Chesapeake Bank, Mellette PC, Pinto Chiropractic, and New Town Dental Arts.
The live and silent auctions will be featuring a variety of different prizes including a weekend getaway trip to Wintergreen, a Bed and Breakfast stay at Hotel Hershey, and many others! A meaningful evening with plenty of positive energy is planned, including a personal testimonial by Jenny Gallagher Derr, a Williamsburg native, about her family’s experience with the tragic loss of their son, Billy Derr. The event will be starting at 6:00p.m., at Kingsmill Resort in the James River Ballroom, and will include music performances from local youth talent drawn from the public schools and William & Mary.
