The James City County Historical Commission is calling for nominations of individuals, groups, or organizations for the 2017 Historic Preservation Awards, according to a news release.

The commission will take entries that meet certain criteria, such as an act or project that contributed to the preservation of James City County’s history or historic resources, and occurred within the county or is directly related to the county.

The awards can be earned through work as a volunteer or as part of an individual, group, or organization’s professional work, and the award can be present posthumously.

Nominations for the 2017 Historic Preservation Award will be accepted until March 23.

According to the release, awards will be presented during an unspecified James City County Board of Supervisors meeting.

Nomination forms can be found here or by contacting Lauren White in the James City County Planning Division at 757-253-6876 or planning@jamescitycountyva.gov.
