Audrey Ingram Wingate, 80, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away peacefully on Jan. 30, 2017 and went to be with her Lord.
Born in Olive Hill, Ky. on Dec. 22, 1936 to Audrey P. Raybourn and Russell L. Ingram, Audrey was a graduate of Morehead State College. Audrey married Robert Tucker Wingate in Hampton, Va. on Jan. 27, 1962 at Hampton Christian Church. Audrey was a former English teacher at Hampton High School and was an active member of Walnut Hills Baptist Church and a volunteer in Colonial Williamsburg.
Audrey is preceded in death by her grandparents, Enoch Raybourn and Jessie Day and her parents, Audrey Raybourn and Russell Ingram, all of Kentucky.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert Wingate, her children, Rob and Laura, and her two grandsons, Liam and Bryce.
The family of Mrs. Wingate wish to extend their sincere thanks to Riverside Doctors’ Hospital in Williamsburg, VCU Critical Care Hospital in Richmond, and all the doctors and nurses who helped with her care. A special thanks to her church family at Walnut Hills Baptist Church for all of their continued support and prayers during this time.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4 at Walnut Hills Baptist Church, 1014 Jamestown Rd., Williamsburg, Va., with a reception to follow.
