Rochelle Dianne “Shelly” Derosier, 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017. She was born Sept. 25, 1945, in Uniontown, Pa., to Charles and Elizabeth Patchan Livingston.
Shelly graduated from Uniontown Joint Senior High School in 1962. She moved to Northern Virginia and worked for more than 30 years as a medical insurance specialist and office manager for Woodbridge Pediatrics LTD in Woodbridge, Va. She and her husband retired to Williamsburg in 2004 and settled in Claiborne Condominiums of Historical Williamsburg, where she became active in the social club and organized many social events. Shelly was an active member Saint Bede Catholic Church, especially the Young at Heart Ministry (55+).
Shelly is survived by her husband, George Derosier of 52 years; son, Scott Derosier (Jessica) of Virginia Beach; daughter, Dana Derosier-Huchthausen of Chesterfield; and five grandchildren Michael Scott Derosier (21), Bailey Anne Huchthausen (18), Matthew Edward Derosier (17), Nicholas Ryan Huchthausen (15) and Merrick Nathan Derosier (12); sister, Adele Wilson (James) of Uniontown, Pa.; many nieces and nephews.
Forever in our hearts, all who loved her will forever miss her. She had a special love of family and loved spending time with her beautiful grandchildren. Her many friends feel the loss of her beautiful smile, warmness and happy attitude.
Visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg. A Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at Saint Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg. Burial in the St. Bede Columbarium will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Shelly Derosier to the Hospice House of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
