Judith Southern Kane, 79, passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born in Winston Salem, N.C., but grew up in Fries and Galax, Va.

Left to cherish her memory are her childhood sweetheart and loving husband of 58 years, Sterling Kane; three children, Amy Kane Inge of Chesapeake, John Sterling Kane and Mary Beth Preas, and her husband, Clayton, all of Williamsburg; and five grandchildren, Nicholas Inge, Jeremy Inge, Adam Kane, Samuel Preas and Della Brooke Preas.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at Bruton Parish Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation. Condolences to the family may be offered at www.nelsencares.com.
