Students from the College of William & Mary made the trek to Richmond on Tuesday to lobby state legislators on issues that matter to them.

They went to the capital to lobby for more need-based financial support. They met Gov. Terry McAuliffe and his dog. They urged legislators to maintain funding for institutions of higher education. And they registered concerns about possible legislative action that might affect how many students the college accepts from out-of-state.

Here are some scenes from the day, captured by WYDaily's Steve Roberts, Jr.
