Hampton Roads Academy Defeats Christ Chapel 66-60

NEWPORT NEWS –Senior Anthony Piccott scored 23 points and 8th grader Quadir Pettaway scored 18 as the Hampton Roads Academy Navigators beat Christ Chapel 66-60 in a non-conference boy’s basketball matchup Friday night.

This marks the fourth win of the season for the Navigators leaving them with a record of 4-6.

Senior Devone Humphrey contributed to the win leading the team with 8 assist and four steals. The Navigators out rebounded the Lions 30-28 with senior Chase Bartol capturing a team high of nine, two offensive and seven defensive.

The Navigators outshot the Lions in both the first and second quarter ending the half 36 to 18. The Lions came out for a strong second half, outscoring the Navigators 20-12 in the fourth quarter but it was not enough to push them ahead.

The Navigators will compete in the Lake Taylor Invitational Monday January 16, and will travel to Bishop Sullivan Tuesday for their first TCIS contest at 6 p.m.
