David William Hartman, 59, passed away on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017. David was born in Newport News and was a lifelong Peninsula resident. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He was a former boy scout and enjoyed listening to music and dancing.
He was a preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Robinson Hartman and Frank Edward Hartman Sr.; and brother, Bernard,
He is survived by his sister, Margaret (Peggy) Nettles (Bill) of Seaford; and brothers, Frank E. Harman Jr. (Anna) of Florida, James Joseph Hartman of Norfolk, Thomas Michael Hartman of Poquoson and Robert A. Hartman of Texas; sisters-in-law, Debbie, Bonnie and Colleen; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of VersAbility for all the care and love that was shown to David throughout his life. A special thank you to Rhonda for taking great care of David and taking him bowling, to the movies and many other wonderful places.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Amory Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Cavey officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
