Lawrence E. “Lonnie” Tyler Sr. entered into eternal rest peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at the Hospice House of Williamsburg. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Tyler leaves to cherish his wife, Rose M. Tyler; daughters, Lesley Tyler, Totina Washington and Leslie Washington; sons, Lawrence E. Tyler Jr., Sean Tyler, Alvin Jones, Lance Jones and Tony Holmes; father, George P. Palmer; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; six sisters; four brothers; his aunts and uncle; and a host of caring friends.
Mr. Tyler may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. A funeral service, celebrating the life he lived, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Roland A. Cuffee Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at the church by 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
