Ruth S. Turner-Walton, 90, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, after a brief illness.
Ruth was a Bassett, Va., native and a York County resident since 1960. A member of South York Baptist Church, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Kennon Turner and Charles Walton; sons, Bruce Turner and Charles Walton Jr.; and two brothers, Cletis and Palmer Shelton.
She is survived by five daughters, Becky (Phil) Solada, Rita (Steven) Moore, Gloria (Elias) Smith, Dorothy (Angel) Garcia and Patsy Jenkins; one son, David Walton; and a daughter-in-law, Joyce Clayton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Wesley (Amy) Moore, Justin (Lauren) Moore, Keith (Lora) Solada, Kristen Solada, Richard (Debbie) Solada, Mary Bonniville, Norma(Ed) Luther, Barbara (Rick) Garner, Nathan Walton, Heather Gray, Amy Ezzell, Rita (Gerald) McIntyre, Tanya (Dean) Harmon, Michael Garcia, Amanda Walton, Lexus Walton, Torrie Walton, Jason Jenkins, Mellissa Jenkins and Allison West; as well as 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to thank the loving and caring staff at Walter Reed Hospital for their kindness and service to Ruth and her family.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m . Tuesday, Jan. 10, in Veterans Memorial Gardens of Hampton with the Rev. Rita Staul officiating.
