The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 17-year-old from Newport News after he allegedly shot at another person’s vehicle in a Taco Bell parking lot when a “drug deal went bad,” police said.

The 17-year-old was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of reckless handling of a firearm, shooting into an occupied vehicle, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a juvenile, destruction of private property and abduction, according to a York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.

The shots were fired in the parking lot of the Taco Bell, located in Washington Square shopping center in York County on Dec. 20. There were no injuries and the incident had nothing to do with the Taco Bell business, the post said.
