James City County Police are looking to identify a man they believe is involved in a Target gift card scam.
According to a James City County Facebook post, a man entered the Target on Monticello Avenue on Dec. 13 and activated a gift card.
An out-of-state victim had been scammed into providing the gift card information to an unidentified person. The gift card was then activated the same day at the James City County Target, a page administrator commented on the post.
Police are asking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual they believe was involved in the scam.

The public can also contact the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-Up. Callers to the Crime Line may remain anonymous, do not have to testify in court and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if the information leads to an arrest.
