Overnight fire displaces four York County residents

A late night fire inside a home in the Dare area of York County led to the evacuation of four residents, officials say.

According to a news release from the York County Department of Fire and Life Safety, deputies were dispatched to a house fire in the 100 block of Anchor Drive around 3:30 a.m. Friday.

Upon arrival, the fire and rescue units found heavy fire conditions, with the back portion of the house fully involved in fire, the release stated.

Four occupants of the home were outside the residence when deputies arrived and they reported no injuries, the release stated.

According to the release, the majority of the fire was contained to the rear portion of the house and the attic areas, although additional sections of the house experienced heat and smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
