Nonstop $99 flights to New York are coming to the Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport.
On March 13, 2017, Elite Airways LLC will start nonstop service from Newport News to New York City/Newark Airport and Long Island MacArthur Airport, the airline announced Wednesday.
The nonstop flights will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, according to a release. Early bird tickets are already on sale, starting at a one-way price of $99.
“We welcome Elite Airways to the Newport/News Williamsburg International Airport (PHF), and know their level of service will be greatly supported by our community,” Executive Director Ken Spirito said in a release. “The addition of this highly sought after service and routes will provide business and leisure travelers the ability to once again travel non-stop to New York and the surrounding metropolitan areas. Additionally, Southeast Virginia offers the residents of New York non-stop access to world famous beaches, historical attractions and amusement parks.”
Elite, founded in 2006, is based in Portland, Maine. The airline operates Bombardier CRJ-200 and CRJ-700 jet airliners.
Its routes link underserved communities with popular destinations, such as New York.
“Elite Airways is thrilled to provide the ti-state region with convenient access to all that the Hampton Roads area, Virginia Beach and Colonial Williamsburg have to offer, while providing nonstop jet service from PHF to both the Big Apple and Long Island,” John Pearsall, president of Elite said in a release. “We expect Newport News to be a very successful addition to our 2017 schedule, and we sincerely thank airport and community leaders for their support.”
