Ronald Lee “Ron” Hall, 54, valued leader and team member

Ronald Lee “Ron” Hall, 54, a resident of Newport News for 25 years, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, of cancer at his home in Norfolk. He was born April 28, 1962.

Mr. Hall graduated from Holt High School (1980). He enlisted in U.S. Marine Corps after graduation, where he was an infantryman for four years. He worked as a fireman and medic with Newport News Shipbuilding, and most recently as a fireman and chief in both Iraq and Afghanistan (2004-15). He was well liked and respected, dedicated and devoted to his job while serving the U.S. and coalition forces. Ron was a valued leader and team member. He loved Alabama football and travelling. His most cherished, precious award was the honor of being a father to daughters Brittany, Casey and Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Hall; brother, Randy Eric Hall; daughter, Taylor; and grandparents, Lando and Mary Edna Hall.

Survivors include his daughters, Brittany Hall and Casey (Philip)Mazolla; grandson, Brennan; sister, Monika Stewart (Justin); brothers, David (Joanie) Hall, Johnny(Kerrie) Hall, Ricky Hall and Adam Hall; and mother, Geraldine Hall. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and nephew; he will truly be missed by us all.

Local family and friends will celebrate Ron’s life at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Hoss’s Deli, 806 Old Oyster Point Road, Newport News, VA 23602.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice (American Cancer Society, Newport News Food Bank, etc.).
